The cross-flow fan gets its name from the way the air flows through the fan. The blades of the fan are arranged in a crosswise pattern, with the air flowing perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This creates a broad, uniform flow of air that is ideal for many applications, such as cooling electronics, ventilating enclosures, and circulating air in HVAC systems.

The cross-flow fan is mainly composed of impeller, duct and motor.
